Our Purpose

Based on Ephesians 4:11-16 our purpose is to assist those in ministry by providing physical rest and spiritual encouragement, pointing their focus to Christ so that with the mind of Christ they would return to His ministry in His strength and be able to equip the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body. By encouraging spiritual growth, holding to sound doctrine, and speaking the truth in love, we desire to see believers mature in Christ so that the church would have unity in Him.

Our Vision

To provide cabins for those in ministry to come and rest, in order that they do not burn out in the ministry. We also want to fill the cabins with encouraging media (music, books, sermons, etc.). We want to give an ear to those who need to unload, encourage those who are weary, and build relationships with all who come.

Our History

Black Hills Ministries began because of a burden that Phil & Charlotte Shively and Darren & Becky DeFord have to encourage people in ministry. God led us together in 2010 to begin this organization. Black Hills Ministries was incorporated in 2012 and was granted 501(c)3 non-profit status in 2014.
